The CRC 7s has announced the pools for its men's competition June 3-4 in Chester, Pa.
The tournament will have six pools of four teams each, with the six winners and the two best 2nd-place teams making the Cup Quarterfinals. This will mean that points difference will be a crucial aspect in deciding knockout round seeds and those two wild card spots.
The pools have a very good mix of the kinds of traditional college sports powers that the CRC has long supported (UCLA, Notre Dame, Penn State), and strong college programs with a smaller crossover-sports profile (AIC, Lindenwood, Life). Defending champion Cal is in a very competitive pool with Delaware, Clemson, and Penn State. Two-time winner Dartmouth has 2016 USA 7s champion Saint Mary's in Pool A.
