Colorado HS 7s Kicks Off in Style

For Monarch, this was a very good start under a coaching staff of Rob Davis and former USA 7s captain Kevin Whitcher. 

"It's great to have his experience out there," said Davis.

Whitcher was a versatile forward with excellent leadership skills, and that seems to have passed on to his son, Henry, who captains the side and was strong throughout.

He wasn't the only one as Dean Martins was also very strong for the Monarch black team. 

"The players are excited this season has kicked off," continued Davis. "We have some good depth this fall."

And indeed they do, fielding a Monarch Gold side also that finished the opening day 2-1, with their lone loss a 20-19 nailbiter against Black Sheep/Palmer.

Sam Clark was an excellent finisher for the Gold squad and led the team in tries. He also played solid defense. Wyatt LeBar was a smart playmaker and kicked well also.
