Charlotte Catholic Over Hough Tuesday Night to Remain Undefeated

Meanwhile, Luke Zehmke and Vince Keller were key in the kick-and-chase, keeping Hough in their half for much of the game.

"The Catholic 10 and 15's kicking game was better than ours," said Hough Head Coach Bruce Colson, adding that his team losing the kicking contest was not something his team was used to. "Our forwards showed up, but credit to the defense from Catholic. We knew they'd bring line speed and determination on D and we just didn't deal with it as we'd have liked."

But South Meck has wrapped up their regular season while Hough has one more game, against a Myers Park team that South Meck just beat. The expectation is that Hough will win that game and secure 2nd. In a way, it doesn't matter, as either way South Meck and Hough will face off in the semifinals on February 7. Charlotte Catholic will take on Marvin Ridge—Catholic plays Ardrey Kell next week and Marvin Ridge plays Corinth; if both play as expected there will be no change in the seedings.
