The favorites took the spoils Saturday in the Utah Youth Rugby finals.

School Final

Herriman beat Mountain Ridge, the team created when the Herriman school district split, taking the finals in emphatic fashion 74-12. Head Coach Jeff Wilson said it took his team a long time to get into their rhythm, but once they did, they exploded for tries.

Asher Coleman, Sione Nau, and Troy Ellermeier continue to be in excellent form for the Mustangs, but Herriman also got some strong performances by players such as Noah Petersen, Keenan Rollins, and Kyler Holverson.

And the more strong work they get from those players, the better for them.

Club Final

Cavemen took on rivals LCA and took the final 45-17 to win their second-straight club final.

Cavemen got tries from props Jaybian Na'a and Vaha Esikia, while loose forwards Bradley Robinson and Dalin Afu also added scores.

In the backs, center Mason Tapusoa and wings Fisher Baldwin and Emosi Racule also scores, while flyhalf Luke Vernon kicked five conversions.

It was an impressive showing from Cavemen as they and LCA look ahead to the Boys HS National Championships. Herriman will also be playing there, but in the school bracket.
