The first leg in the Capital 7s Series kicks off this weekend at James Madison University.

This is a series of 7s tournaments centered around the colleges who are now part of the new Chesapeake Collegiate Conference, which kicks off its 15s competition in the coming fall. Other colleges are invited to the series, which will run through the spring.

This is not a USA Rugby Qualifier series, but could be in the future.

This weekend's field is stacked with high-quality teams. South Carolina and Virginia Tech fields two squads, and JMU, the 2014-15 USA DII 7s champions, are there, as are Maryland, Virginia Commonwealth, and a tough Georgetown team.
