All Three Military Academies in Action in Women DI College

The National Intercollegiate Rugby Association is back this week, and so are women's DI games.

NIRA DI has two clashes, with Brown hosting Sacred Heart in a game the improved Brown squad is favored to win. And Army has their NIRA home opener against 2-0 Dartmouth. Army tied Brown in their first NIRA game (the game went to overtime, where Army won, but the overtime won't count in the standings), and last week slammed Coast Guard 102-5 in a game that saw 14 Army players score tries.

AIC plays Lander in a game of a fairly established varsity program and a relatively new one. They play at a neutral site in New Jersey. AIC beat Albany 87-0 last week with Yasmeen Guerrier and Suley Guerrero both scoring three tries (and, interestingly, their last names both mean the game thing—warrior).

Lander's lone game of the season was a 39-0 loss to Queens University.

For their part, Queens hosts Alderson Broaddus in a non-conference clash on Saturday and the US Naval Academy on Sunday.

All three military academies are in action as Air Force hosts Colorado College in the Rocky Mountain DI Conference. There are a lot of questions to answer in that conference and New Mexico at Wyoming and Colorado State at Colorado will help do that.

On Friday at University of Notre Dame the Irish will host Davenport in a Big Ten Conference game that is also part of a celebration of 60 years of rugby at Notre Dame. GRR will be there.
