15 Conference Games As DIAA Heats Up

DIAA games get underway this weekend with 12 (actually 15, we confirmed three more) conference games and a few crossovers, too.

Most intriguing will be Kennesaw State vs Tennessee as the SCRC gets underway. KSU was very competitive last year and starting against perennial contenders Tennessee is a tough way to kick off, but it will tell us a lot. So will the non-conference game between another SCRC contender, Kentucky, and Ohio State.

Having promoted itself up to DIAA, NC State, the 2019 Men's DII champs, will take on Mount Saint Mary's in the Chesapeake opening weekend. Georgetown faces Virginia Tech. This is a wide open conference, what with Mary Washington having moved on to DIA. MSM, NC State, Tech, as well as JMU have designs on 1st.

The MARC already kicked off with a few surprises already, namely IUP beating West Virginia and Temple beating Pitt. So what now? Pitt needs to rebound against St. Joe's which won't be easy. Delaware, which opened with a loss to Towson, now needs to take down 1-0 Temple. Two winners from last week, Towson and IUP, face off in perhaps the most intriguing matchup there.

Several teams are looking at crossovers, with Dartmouth favored against UConn, UK against OSU, and Lindenwood-Belleville working on an independent schedule with a game against Wisconsin.

All kinds of questions fill the Heart of America. Iowa State? Kansas? We'll see ...
