Girls HS Championships Set for Wild Weekend in Utah
The nation's top girls rugby programs descend on the pitch this week for three days of championship rugby.
In all, 21 girls high school teams will compete across four brackets (HS Tier 1 & 2; Club Tier 1 & 2) to crown the 2026 USA YHS Girls National Champions.
In addition, the tournament will showcase a Middle school division that has seven participating teams.
Harlequins Impressive in NorCal Girls Win
The Sacramento Harlequins won the Girls NorCal final in dominant fashion Saturday at Stanford University.
The Harlequins played fast and were strong in contact. While early-on East Palo Alto was able pin the Harlequins back, it was only a matter of time for the Sacramento team to break out.
This was an excellent setup for the Harlequins' trip to the Girls HS Championships.
Gonzaga, Doylestown Tops at Gonzaga Classic
Gonzaga hosted their Gonzaga Classic over the weekend, with the host team taking the Boys Varsity bracket, while Doylestown impressed in the Girls Varsity bracket and took the final.
Gonzaga College HS inducted their 2014-2016 teams, which won three state National Championships, into the Gonzaga Athletic Hall of Fame, so there were plenty of alumni watching the games.
Stage Set for Girls HS Nationals in Salt Lake City
This spring, the future of American rugby takes center stage as the Girls Rugby Nationals arrive
in Salt Lake City on May 15–16, 2026.
With more than 30 teams from across the country set to compete, this year’s tournament promises to be one of the most exciting and impactful showcases of girls' rugby in the United States.
Friendship Cup Full of Top-Ranked Teams
The Friendship Cup tournament fires up Friday and will run for three days in Nashville with an impressive list of HS clubs in action.
Girls Division
We won’t call this a bracket because the Friendship Cup is more about getting the games in rather than a pool-knockout format with a final.
