Ohio Update: Ignatius, St. X Win Rivalry Matches In a classic rivalry high school varsity rugby game, the Saint Ignatius High School Wildcats triumphed over the Saint Edward Eagles 24-0 Saturday night (April 20) at Brooklyn Memorial Stadium in the Cleveland area. The Wildcats displayed a strong defense that kept the Eagles at bay in the first half, but their offense was not clicking, and the half ended with Ignatius leading only 3-0.
Day One at Gonzaga Classic Brings Surprises Day One at the Gonzaga Classic saw some surprises and some teams true to form, especially within the Boys Premier. Pool A Gonzaga Purple, SLUH, Fairfield Prep Gonzaga's Purple side is their front-line group and their backs were firing in impressive fashion as they shut out both SLUH and Fairfled, logging more than a point per minute against the Connecticut side in the shortened games.
Gonzaga Classic Provides Multiple Rankings Matchups The Gonzaga Classic boys competition promises to match up some high-level boys HS teams. In the Boys Premier, 12 well-regarded teams face off. Pool A sees #1 Gonzaga with Fairfield Prep and St. Louis University High.
Game List Expands for Boys HS Weekend We've got well over 100 games on the boys HS rugby schedule this week. We probably have missed some because, as we said before, teams and leagues use different apps and tracking methods. So if we missed you, let us know! Wisconsin has kicked off and they have a nice full slate of games. Green Bay remains a top contender in that state and Pulaski showed well at Nash Bash.
Teams for 2024 Boys HS Nationals Announced Fourteen HS clubs and ten School teams have been selected for the 2024 Boys HS Rugby National Championships. All 24 teams invited have accepted their invitations.
