MTSU Clear Atop SIRCMiddle Tennessee State took control of the South Independent Rugby Conference North with a 44-24 defeat of previously-unbeaten Georgia Southern. MTSU struck first with a try from Adam Fairchild with the conversion from Coty Baker.
Fairfield, Vassar to Clash for Tri-State
Now we’re down to two teams in the Tri-State Men’s DII collegiate conference, with Vassar and Fairfield winning their semifinals this past weekend.
Fairfield downed a solid RPI team 58-10 Sunday, while Vassar had to battle to push aside Sacred Heart 48-34.

GVSU, Xavier For Great Lakes Title
The Great Lakes Men’s DII Conference is coming down to one game, this coming weekend. Grand Valley State University finished their regular season 6-0 in the North, while Xavier of Cincinnati finished undefeated also, however they did tie two games, including October 25 against Kent State.
GVSU Head Coach John Mullett sees those tough games for Xavier and sees reason for concern.
