Rockford to Host Big Ten Champ Weekend
ROCKFORD, IL — The Rockford Region will host the 2014 BTU Rugby Big Ten Universities Conference Championship at Sportscore Two, in Loves Park, IL. The championship will take place on Saturday, November 15 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
New to DII, RWU, CCSU Face OffTwo former National Small College Rugby Organization conferences will see their champions play off this weekend for a place in the USA Rugby Men's DII College playoffs. Roger Williams comfortably won the Colonial Coast Conference, both in their regular season record and in the playoffs. Although, the playoffs themselves weren't without surprise.
Weather a Concern in Playoffs
The extremely cold weather expected through much of the nation this coming weekend could derail some Men's DII College play-ins.
Cold weather with rain and snow is expected through much of Upstate New York, where four teams will play off to see who gets into the Round of 16. Those teams and regions are relatively used to such hardship so that might not be a problem.
Notre Dame College Wins MARC
The Notre Dame College Falcons clinched their second-straight MARC Conference title Sunday with a 31-17 victory over Rowan at Mechanicsburg, Pa.
