Fools Fest at Winona State in Minnesota kicked off the upper Midwest 7s spring this past Saturday, and with both DII and NSCRO men's college brackets in the tournament, there were some interesting matchups.

James Madison played in all four of the Chesapeake Conference 7s series tournaments, and didn't win any of them, but in the final championship tournament this past weekend, JMU came through with a series of surprise results to take the title.
Buckeyes Win Big Ten, Eyes on 7s and 15s Prizes
Ohio State won the Big Ten 7s and booked a spot in USA Rugby's 7s National Championships after beating Wisconsin in the final.
For the Buckeyes, it was a fairly comfortable trip to the final, but Wisconsin made it difficult, and in a back-and-forth game, Matt Stauder scored the game- (and tournament-) winner.
Defense Sees Falcons to MAC 7s Title
Bowling Green will go to the USA Rugby 7s championships after the Falcons won the Mid America Conference championship.
Bowling Green defeated Central Michigan 29-5, Miami University 34-0, and Dayton 14-0 in pool play to advance to the semifinals.
In the semis, Bowling Green took care of Western Michigan 33-7, while Louisville won a tough one 28-19 over Miami.
