Dartmouth, Brown Vault to Top of Liberty D1
Dartmouth has taken over 1st in the Liberty NCR D1 after an impressive 62-22 defeat of Fordham this weekend.
With the win the Big Green is 3-0 with four-try bonus points in each game. In fact, throughout the season so far Dartmouth's attack has been explosive and relentless.
Player Spotlight: Richard Wofford, Dartmouth
It's been a good start for Dartmouth and a nice follow-on from their run to the CRC final.
And one of the players who has been part of that wave is Richard Wofford. A smart rugby player with good experience, a talented ballcarrier, and tough defender, Wofford added another word to his resume at the CRC: clutch.
Scares and Breakouts in NCR D1 Matches
At the top of NCR's DI the competition will be fierce this year.
As readers might have noticed, GRR opted last week to put Walsh in as the #1-ranked team in this division, and with that team being idle, some other programs had a chance to make themselves known.
Liberty NCR D1 Ramps Up Now
The Liberty Conference in NCR D1 kicked off last week with just the one game but now with three matches on the slate.
Coming into this weekend Fordham is 1-0 after a nicely-taken win over AIC.
"We knew it will be a very physical game," said Fordham Head Coach Federico Rienhardt. "We worked hard and stayed connected in all game."
Wheeling, Belmont Abbey Keep ARC Train Rolling
With one more NCR D1 play-in game to play on Sunday, the ARC are now 3-for-3 in the first round of the postseason this fall.
