The Liberty Conference in NCR D1 kicked off last week with just the one game but now with three matches on the slate.
Coming into this weekend Fordham is 1-0 after a nicely-taken win over AIC.
"We knew it will be a very physical game," said Fordham Head Coach Federico Rienhardt. "We worked hard and stayed connected in all game."
With a good performance from freshman John Morris, who was big on defense and scored a try, and Benjamin Thompson running the tempoe of the game on attack, the Rams looked impressive.
Thompson scored two tries while lock and captain Mike O'Keefe also scored, as did CJ PRatto.
But the big change for Fordham is what's been the big change in a number of college teams this fall—assistant coach.
"Having Chris Mattina on the coaching staff has made a great impact for the boys and the program," said Reinhardt. "He is always working to improve us and looking forward to the next challenge."
Fordham hosts a Fairfield team that beat Boston College in a warmup.
Led by Archer Fenton and Patrick McHale the Stags made good decisions.
"Our lineout both on attack and defense is solid," said Head Coach Austin Ryan, who singled out Eamonn O'Reilly as key to that aspect of play.
While Brown might be the favorites, and Dartmouth might be another favorite, these two teams are pushing to unseat them.
