Dartmouth, Army, Dig Out to Face Off
Coming off a close loss to Navy, Dartmouth has to feel like things are looking up as the Big Green faces West Point this weekend.
Air Force Beats Army
Air Force Academy pulled off something of an upset Friday in Colorado Springs, defeating Army 31-25 in the second game of the Commander-in-Chief Trophy series.
Air Force has played both of the team’s games in the series, having lost 28-0 at Navy. Army and Navy finish off the series in the New Year. With Navy 1-0, Air Force 1-1, Army 0-1, all three teams could still win it.
Kutztown Powers Past Army
Kutztown University defeated West Point 39-26 Saturday at Kutztown, dropping Army to 4-2 in the Rugby East and putting Kutztown up to 5-0.
The game was intensely physical and very tight for most of the game, but a sterling effort from the Kutztown forwards saw the Bears survive.
Rugby East at Stake as Army Visits Kutztown
Army tries to bounce back from losing to Iona by traveling to Kutztown this weekend.
It’s a huge game for both as each team is in with a shot at the Rugby East title.
Penn State, Army Joins Varsity Cup
West Point and Penn State have confirmed that their men's rugby team will join the Varsity Cup as the team's post-season in the spring of 2016.
With the addition of these two long-standing programs, the Varsity Cup has now expanded to 16 teams. The list is, for the most part, based on a combination of teams strong in rugby and with a recognizable name in college sports.
