Last week was a good one for the Davenport women. A member of the DII Great Lakes conference, the Panthers played two DI teams in the course of three days, and beat them by a combined 52-12.

Although only a sophomore, Danielle Ordway is a familiar name on campus. For the third time in her short career, Davenport University has named Ordway as the Female Athlete of the Week. Chosen by the athletic director and media department, the Lowell, Mich., native is the only rugby player who has received this honor.

Davenport University’s men’s team came out of their short fur to Canada 2-0, after beating McMaster in a quasi-scrimmage, and defeating University of Western Ontario 44-19.

The Panthers were led by Brady Gent, a junior flyhalf from Rockford, Mich., who scored two tries in the McMaster practice game and added three conversions and a penalty for 19 points.
