Old Blue kicked off their ARP season with a win but in the other game on the league's slate the weather won out.
It was a tough one for Old Blue, which needed a late penalty try to overcome a tenacious NYAC side 26-24.
Weather delays hit this game as well and lightning ended up calling the game a few minutes early, but the game did get played.
Round 2 of the ARP is set with NYAC taking on NYC rivals Old Blue, and White Plains taking on 2024 champs Mystic River.
After getting a win over NYAC last week, White Plains is looking to put a few more pieces together. WP Head Coach Ray Weiner said last week that his team just needed to train a bit more, and they had a week to work on some missed opportunities.
The Atlantic Rugby Premiership men’s club league kicked off Friday night with White Plains taking on New York Athletic Club, and it was White Plains that held on for the 34-28 win.
In Men's club news, five top East Coast men's clubs have formed the Atlantic Rugby Premiership, to mirror the Pacific Rugby Premiership on the West Coast.
