Waverly Shell Rock defeated Cedar Falls to win the Iowa Girls 7s championship over the weekend.

The win capped off an unbeaten season for WSR. For the second time in the Iowa Girls 7s season finale, Madison Englin was named MVP.

Southeast Polk beat Norwalk to take 3rd, and Central Springs took 5th.

Englin, who is also co-captain for WSR and was just back from a USA U18 camp in Chula Vista, was a scoring threat throughout the season, as her side beat CR Washington, Norwalk, and Cedar Falls to finish the season 15-0.

She was backed up by experienced playmaking flyhalf Mya Behrends.

Cedar Falls were led well by Laken Petrie, Laney Waseskuk, and Birklie Waskow, while for WSR backing up Englin’s outstanding showing was defensive leader and co-captain
