Women College Action This Weekend
Perhaps the biggest game in women's D1 and NIRA college rugby was Thursday night's Life University vs Penn State clash.
Life won 27-19, but that was a pretty good showing from Penn State.
A try from Joannah Skucek and two from the electric Susan Adegoke got Life to 20 points, but Penn State clawed back with tries from Camile White, Jaida Rudkin, and Haley Sweitzer made it a one-point game 20-19 with time winding down. But a try from Destiny Roberts iced it for Life. Still, a dramatic early-season clash. (Watch it all here)
Elsewhere in the nation, NIRA does have Army at Mount St. Mary's which is probably a crucial one for West Point (10:30 AM ET kickoff on Saturday and watchable here>>). Dartmouth is favored against Sacred Heart and Brown is favored against Long Island. Harvard vs Quinnipiac is an interesting one and Quinnipiac will want to show well at home. (It's live here with a KO of 1PM ET Saturday>>). Harvard and Dartmouth are both unbeaten atop NIRA DI.
The Big Ten is active now and Davenport has been rolling, winning five games in a row, including a 100-plus pasting of Ohio State last week. Davenport is averaging exactly 70 points per game and has given up a total of 27, 17 of which were in a single game, against Notre Dame.
Virginia at Navy and Air Force at Colorado State are also games to watch.
