Wild Ski Trip for Seattle Youth Rugby Player
Seattle Rugby Club youth player Tristan Stead was in the news this week, although not quite for rugby.
Tristan was on a ski trip with family when he slid out of the chair lift at Whistler in British Columbia. He hung on for about seven long minutes until staff at the ski resort could get a tarp for him to land into. The incident is caught on video which has made the rounds on social media. Seattle's KIRO 7 checked in on Tristan, filming him at rugby practice, as well.
Tristan plays flyhalf for Seattle's 5th/6th Grade team.
"Pound-for-pound he’s one of the toughest kids and committed tacklers you’ll find," said Coach David Miller. "He's a quiet, workmanlike, fearless fly-half. So there was little surprise to find a news crew roll-up to training tonight, to cover Seattle Rugby Club’s newest celebrity."
