Western Washington Defeats Trinity Western
Western Washington Defeats Trinity Western
Western Washington built on its solid fall with a nicely-taken 29-22 victory over a Trinity Western XV Saturday.
Trinity Western is a Canadian national semifinalist, so this was a good showing for WWU.
Flyhalf Max Stone enjoyed an excellent performance, controlling the field position with his tactical kicking and keeping Trinity Western pinned in their own end. Stone was 3-for-4 with his conversions and added a 50-meter penalty goal for good measure.
This follows on with wins over San Jose State, Santa Clara, University of Washington, and Oregon State during the fall.
Currently Western Washington is 2-0 in the NCRC conference, and have Oregon State, Boise State, and Oregon locally remaining on their slate before the NCRC playoffs in mid-March. With an eye to making a splash nationally in D1AA, they also have Bayside RFC (BC), Arizona (D1A), and Trinity Western again this spring.
