All games in Rugby Arizona's opening weekend have been called off due to weather.

The Rugby Arizona HS league starts action this weekend after a warmup tournament last week.

Five-time defending champs Red Mountain have been somewhat dominant in the state and look to be pretty solid once again. However, they've made a switch in coaching as OJ Hawea is now the Program Director, while Jared Baker takes over as Head Coach. It's likely, however, that Red Mountain will continue to be favorites. They return two of their starting front row from last season, and halfback Stephen Schultz is also back. Braxton Gries is solid at center and Lance Bodine is good at lock or flanker and was the team's most consistent forward last season.

Overall, though, word is that the league as a whole is stronger than last year, allowing some programs to perhaps give Red Mountain a push. Blackbirds and Tempe might be the teams to watch early on.
