Men's D2 college rugby enters a crucial month as teams look to a few weeks where conference championships are largely decided.
UNC Wilmington Has Some Unfinished Business
Here's what we see. Is Benedictine (the one in Kansas) for real in the Gateway. We find out when they play Missouri S&T.
Marquette vs UW-Whitewater, Grand Valley State vs Miami, SLU vs Washington U., Georgetown at Salisbury, and Marist at Cornell all feature ranked-vs-ranked.
"As the competitions hit the peak of their seasons, we will have to adapt to faster attacks and increased pressure on offense," said Cornell Head Coach David Burke. "We see Marist and RPI as spoilers to our winning streak especially after seeing that they haven’t reached their stride yet with impressive results the last two weeks."
Burke pointed out that in Cornell's win over Oswego, it was Oswego who were missing some starters. He doesn't want this team to get ahead of themselves.
"Our defense continues to stifle the opposition attack with discipline, staying-on-sides, and balanced stances," Burke explained. "We are attacking in numbers with incremental gains by retaining possession, and fitness continues to be our strength this season."
