USA Women Assembly to Wrap Up with Stars vs Stripes Clash
GLENDALE, Colo. (USA Rugby Release) – The USA Women’s 15s National Team is halfway through its second daily training environment (DTE) assembly of 2021 at the RugbyTown National Training Center in Glendale, Colo., and will close out with a Stars vs Stripes game presented by sponsor DAC.
The matchup is closed to fan attendance but will be streamed live fon the USA Rugby Facebook page. A closed-door scrimmage between the sides will also take place earlier in the week. With the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand just over a year away and a test match series expected this fall, Stars vs Stripes offers another opportunity for pool players to spotlight their game through a competitive 80 minutes.
Thanks to the generous support of match partner DAC, the DTE curtain call has come to life for fans to tune-in live as the Women’s Eagles face off at Infinity Park. We look forward to a fruitful relationship that will impact not just USA Rugby, but the development of the sport in America and around the world.”
Stars and Stripes rosters will be selected by Head Coach Rob Cain and coaching staff, Cain noted on the recent assembly, “Everyone has invested a lot of time, energy and effort in what you would class as the bigger things. Views around mental skills, leadership, rugby IQ, tactical understanding, ability and our identity as a team both on and off the pitch, within a rugby and culture sense.”
“The players have again been phenomenal in their approach and have really started to drive and demand more of each other and the staff. Our ability to take key learnings and showcase that in real time is becoming a real strength of the group.
Cain concluded, “This DTE and matches give the players another exciting opportunity to cement themselves in our selection thoughts as we have one eye firmly on an exciting November test series and of course the many exciting happenings on our road to the Rugby World Cup in 2022. Thank you to Phil Groves and the whole DAC family for their support giving the players a platform to showcase all of their continued hard work and to the many wonderful USA Rugby fans who we continue to owe a huge thank you too.”
Stars vs Stripes will kick off at 5:30pm MDT, is closed to fan attendance and streamed live on USA Rugby's Facebook page.
