USA U20 and U19 Head Coach JD Stephenson has named the lineup for the USA U19 team to meet Canada's U19s Monday at Chula Vista, Calif.
Stephenson has made several changes after December 30th's 29-22 loss to Canada, with changes forced through injury and his changing some combinations. The USA U19s struggled in set piece, especially in the first half, when they fell behind 22-0. However, some improved work in tight and some impact subs made the second half better - 22-7 in favor of the hosts. However, Canada, came away winners.
Bailey Wilson and Ruben de Haas return as captain and vice captain, respectively. Four of the tight five have been replaced, with one of them, Nafi Maafu, moving to the back row from lock. Marcos Young comes in for the injured Anton Grigoriou at flyhalf. Former USA Rugby South U19 star Calvin Gentry gets a look at wing.
Muhammed Abdullah, Jack Miller, Joe Rusert-Cudy, and Grigoriou are all injured. Karen Odeh, Isiah Toutua, Naima Fualaau, and Tavite Lopeti are all healthy scratches.
Both teams will use extended benches.
