The USA Girls U18s and U20s will have a busy summer of action, USA Rugby has announced.

The U18s will play in a festival of shortened matches in Wales in late July, facing off with Netherlands, Scotland, and Wales. The final USA vs Wales match on Saturday, July 27th. The final USA vs Wales match will be a full 70-minute affair and will be broadcast live on RugbyPass TV.

“This opportunity provides a wealth of learning for the players," said U18 Head Coach Susan Whitwell. "Representing your country in an international competition comes with pressure and learning to handle that pressure takes practice. The festival format allows us to experience a variety of game styles in a short period of time which helps develop game understanding and flexibility of thinking. This is a critical chance for our players to develop their ability to identify, adapt and respond quickly under pressure.”

Donations help fund this tour and Rhinos Rugby is making a donation and also matching all public donations up to $15,000 through its global competition organization, Rugby Tens,

The XV Foundation has again donated funds.

The Women’s U20s will start the tour activities with an 11-day camp on the campus of Mount Saint Mary’s University, before heading off to Cardiff on July 12 for the TransAtlantic Quad Series. Fixtures will kick off July 14 with matches planned against the U20 teams from Canada, England, and Wales.

“Similar to previous years, this tour is critical to our athletes’ development in the Pathway, as it teaches them to form an efficient team quickly and compete against opponents who will challenge them tactically, technically, physically and mentally for 80 min non-stop," said USA Women’s U20s Head Coach Joel Bonnaud. "However, this year provides an amazing growth opportunity, as we will have nine days to form a team instead of three. As a result, the group will be able to dig much deeper in the human relationships and brand of rugby we want to display.”
