SYRACUSE, NY — Leinster Rugby has officially launched its 2026 Summer Camps through its School of Excellence partnership with Syracuse University, bringing the club’s proven player development model to young athletes in the United States.
Based in Dublin, Ireland, Leinster Rugby is one of Europe’s leading professional rugby clubs. A four-time European champion and the reigning 2025/26 United Rugby Championship winner, Leinster continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the sport’s premier high-performance environments, with a world-renowned track record in player development.
Still Growing
Now in its fourth year, the initiative offers both residential and day camp options, with the launch today supported by Ireland’s rising international stars, Leinster and Ireland lock/back rower Ryan Baird, and Leinster playmaker, Ireland international, and 2024 Paris Olympian Eve Higgins.
Operating under the banner “The Blueprint,” the camps introduce participants to key elements of Leinster Rugby’s player development philosophy. This includes an immersive educational program simulating a week in the life of a professional rugby player, along with skills development, teamwork, decision-making, and structured progression delivered directly by elite coaching staff traveling from Dublin to Syracuse.

For parents across the United States and beyond seeking a structured, safe, and aspirational sporting environment, the partnership combines Leinster Rugby’s world-leading coaching expertise with Syracuse University’s premier athletic and academic facilities.
“We are incredibly excited to bring Leinster Rugby’s proven development pathway directly to Syracuse,” said Ryan Baird, Leinster player and Ireland international. “As someone who came through the Leinster Academy system myself, I know firsthand how powerful this Blueprint is in shaping young athletes. It’s about building skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of the game that has given me so much.”

“There is growing interest in rugby across the United States, and these camps provide an opportunity for young players to learn new skills, meet experienced coaches, and experience the game in a fun and positive environment,” added Eve Higgins, Leinster star and Ireland Rugby Sevens Olympian. “I was lucky enough to spend my summers attending Leinster Rugby summer camps, so for anyone completely new to the sport or looking to sharpen their skills, the camps are the best way for kids to learn from the best and challenge themselves in a completely new way.”

“We are delighted to launch this year’s Leinster Rugby Camps at Syracuse University and to continue our exceptional partnership with one of the most respected high-performance rugby organizations in the world,” said Allen Groves, SU’s Chief Student Experience Officer. “This initiative will provide young athletes across the United States with access to world-class coaching, while showcasing the values of teamwork, leadership, and personal development that are at the heart of sport. Our Leinster/SU partnership creates an unparalleled opportunity for young players – including those new to rugby – and their families to engage with the game in a meaningful and inspiring way.”
