Orange County, Calif.—Southern California Youth Rugby has joined forces with Next Phase Rugby to support the thousands of SoCal youth in their move beyond high school and club play towards collegiate rugby.
Next Phase Rugby—nextphaserugby.com— is rugby’s sole recruiting app which creates a conversation between the athlete and college rugby coaches across the United States. SoCal Youth Rugby athletes playing in the 2023 High School Season will have the opportunity for premium access into the Next Phase recruiting spotlight.
In order for SoCal athletes to learn firsthand about the college game, Next Phase and SoCal Youth Rugby are debuting the “SoCal Next Phase College Tour Series.”
The first series is geared towards women on October 8 hosted at UCLA and October 15 at Claremont College. UCLA and Claremont coaching staff and their athletes will lead tactical clinics in the morning, a lunch discussion, and fun barbarians tournament in the afternoon.
On October 12, the participants will join an evening online session with Greg Stelluti, Next Phase President and Alex Goff of Goff Rugby Report to learn how best to present themselves in the recruiting process and to learn about the women’s collegiate game from their expert eye.
