San Jose State Men's Rugby Seeks New Head Coach
San Jose State University Men’s Rugby is seeking a head coach to lead the Spartans starting immediately for the 2022-23 season.
Spartan Rugby was founded on the campus of San Jose State University in 1971 and is the 2nd-oldest athletic club on campus.
The Spartans compete in the highly competitive Pacific Western Rugby Conference against the likes of Chico State, Stanford, UCSC, Fresno State, and Univ. Nevada at Reno.
The head coach is responsible for player training and development, rugby tactics and strategy, and for inspiring players to reach beyond their own expectations.
The coach will also build an organizational framework, along with their staff, that will serve as a foundation for years to come. Spartan rugby has a strong alumni network and is supported by multiple organizations including SJSU Club Sports and the Spartan Rugby Alumni Board.
The head coach will be responsible for preparing the team to compete, and also for fostering relationships with youth and HS programs in the area, as well as senior clubs in Northern California.
