The second round of the RugbyTens Series is set for October 12 at The Riding Park in San Juan Capistrano.
This week it's Men, Women, and Mixed Play playoffs.
The Serengeti Elephants lead the Men's standings with a 2-0 record thanks to a bonus points for four tries and that keep them slightly ahead of the Cape Town Wild Dogs (also 2-0). The Sam Clemente Rhinos are 3rd at 1-1 with San Diego and the Balkan Honey Badgers following up. Cape Town leads the women's standings thanks to two bonus-point victories, keeping them ahead of the Elephants. San Clemente is 3rd, Balkans 4th, and San Diego 5th.
So that gives us a Franchise standing sof:
1. Cape Town Wild Dogs
2. Serengeti Elephants
3. San Clemente Rhinos
4. Balkans Honey Badgers
5. San Diego Legion
What is Mixed Play in the RugbyTens Series?
Serengeti played Cape Town Saturday in the Mixed Play final, while the Honey Badgers took on San Clemente for third.
The Honey Badgers edged San Clemente 12-10 in dramatic fashion. Meanwhile Serengeti went into halftime with their women's team having taken a 5-0 lead. The Wild Dogs tied it up when the men took the field in the second half, and then as time wound down Ryan Musumhi raced around the edge to win it for Serengeti.
Meanwhile, Men's and Women's matches kick off with a full slate of matches through the day.
