Pelham HS improved to 3-1 in New York with a convincing 86-14 defeat of the Harvey School.

Pelham scored just a minute into the game after captain Ash Mallach stole a lineout throw and the ball was sent through the hands and to the corner. Pelham rolled after that and got big games from Mallach at No. 8, fullback Jules Charpiot, and, especially on defense, center Vincent DeNourais, flyhalf Aiden Kiernan, lock Caleb Persanis, and flanker Tim Lyons.

Pelham has wrapped up the MetNY Region, and with no state championships being played, the remaining two weeks of regular season play are all that's left. Their only loss was a 12-10 loss to Fordham Prep at the beginning of the season. 

Rockaway improved to 2-0 with a 41-12 win over St. Anthony's. But injuries have hit a lot of these teams. New Rochelle and Play Rugby will combine to face Pelham this coming weekend, while Rockaway is too depleted to continue.

Meanwhile, City Honors leads the Western New York girls league after a convincing defeat of Orchard Park.

The WNY boys leagues are split into two conferences but there is crossover between the two. Corning and Canisius battled in a close one, with Corning winning 29-24. Kenmore opened up with a big 66-36 win over Grand Island.

In the Rugby NY standings, winning margins are limited to 40 points, which is why the points-scored totals in the standings are different from what you might expect.
