The Rugby Network (TRN) has announced a partnership with the College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) to exclusively broadcast its matches for Fall 2023 through Spring 2024.
The new deal will expand exposure to college rugby in the US as TRN will show 13 events starting this month. This includes the Fall Classic Women’s D1 Championship and D1A Bowl games in North Carolina on Dec. 2, as well as UCLA hosting Oxford University on Dec. 7.
In the spring, the college rugby calendar will be action packed with three “Match of the Week” contests featuring CRAA D1A programs. There also is the anticipated 2024 Men’s and Women’s 15s Championship Weekend and Women’s 7s Championship on May 4-5, 2024. The season will culminate with live streaming of the Men’s 7s Championship on June 1-2, 2024.
“We are excited to partner with the MLR and TRN to bring the best of high performance women’s and men’s rugby to the epicenter for rugby in the United States,” said Commissioner of CRAA D1A and CRAA Executive Committee Member, Paul Santinelli. “Last year’s Spring Championships in Houston were a tremendous success on TRN and we are passionate to build off of that momentum. There is so much to be excited about as we bring the American sport mentality of college bowl games to collegiate rugby. We are starting to see increased eyeballs on the college game, so we are delighted to work with partners, Major League Rugby and TRN, who understand the mutually beneficial relationship of growing the sport together.”
