Rio Americano defeated Jesuit of Sacramento 21-15 Saturday in Northern California.

This was yet another unleashing of Rio's speedy, athletic style of play.

This result came a week after a 21-14 loss to De La Salle that was just about as notable.

"Our defense was solid," assessed Head Coach Sam Enochian. "But we made too many mistakes in attack. This was an emotions-driven game for us, and probably them too. We have been waiting four years for this game and that buildup and release was a bit intense."

Jesuit's defense at set piece was effective at disrupting Rio's possession.

But Americano was able to counter well on kicks and punish defensive gaps.

Seti Perona scored a try, kicked all three conversions, and was crucial in dealing with the Jesuit kicking game.

Jesuit ran their game plan, were aggressive, and pressured well on defense.

But the Rio forwards battled well; Reed Knapp was outstanding for them.
