Marian University pulled off their second-straight close win in their preseason Saturday with a 27-25 defeat of Davenport.
The Knights came back from a 22-5 deficit to win the game. While this was a preseason match and Davenport changed up some combinations, it was still a strong showing for Marian.
"Having a full week of training allowed us to ID some things to focus on [after playing Kentucky]," said Marian Head Coach John Harley. "We definitely improved. Now the goal is to continue to build on those skills while adding more. We were down 22-5 and just kept chipping away. Davenport did make several subs at halftime as they prepare for their season, but personally I will say that we can play with whoever's the field and we did just that."
