Finally, North Carolina and Duke have resurrected an old rivalry challenge match along the Tobacco Road with the Jay Trehy Cup. The trophy is named after Jay Trehy who played rugby for both colleges, undergrad at Duke and in law school at Chapel Hill and he was chosen because he embodies excellence in rugby, academics, and service. He was one of the UNC Rugby founders and has been a huge advocate for foster kids and helping children through the foster system.
Trehy has asked for the match to help raise awareness for the Hope Center, an organization that helps foster children after they age out of the state system when they turn 18.
