One Day of Fun and Then See The Stars: The LA Invitational
One Day of Fun and Then See The Stars: The LA Invitational
All brackets remain open for the LA Invitational May 2, 2025.
The tournament will be just on the one day, Friday, May 2. It's possible that one or two brackets might extend to having a Saturday game in one of the stadiums during the LA Sevens, but for the vast, vast majority of teams playing, they will play just on Friday.
The tournament will be held at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, Calif., and there are so many fields that everything will probably wrap up by 5PM on Friday.
What all of that means is this: come to the LA Area to play, have some fun, finish your tournament, and watch the LA Sevens on May 3 and 4. Teams get deeply discounted tickets and also hotel deals. See here for details>>
At least 23 brackets are schedules for the day, from U8 Flag up to Club Premier. A variety of intensity levels will be on offer, so if you just want to play and have a little fun, there will be a bracket for you. If you want to play against other high-level teams, there will be a bracket for you.
Why Play in the College Bracket?
The College Bracket will be there perfect chance for teams that maybe have completed their 15s season or won't be going on a major trip to a tournament to instead wrap up the season with a fun event in LA. Got a serious 7s side and a bunch of other guys who aren't so serious? No problem, enter in the Collegiate Club Bracket or the Collegiate Open Bracket.
Get 12 or so players together and go on a road trip to play on Friday and watch the internationals on Saturday and Sunday.
Why Play in the HS Bracket?
Most high school rugby in California will have wrapped up by the end of April. So how about you get a group of players together and finish everything off in style? The LAI will have brackets for select sides and also for single clubs, with ages from U14 to U16 to U18. This allows teams to play in the level that is right for them.
The goal is to have fun, play at your level, and wrap it all up in one day. There will be multiple food trucks and other team support at Orange County Great Park—organizers want this to be about enjoying the game.
