Ohio State Defeats Michigan
Ohio State moved to 6-1 on the season and 3-1 in the Big Ten with a fairly convincing 57-14 defeat of Michigan Friday night in Columbus, Ohio.
Michigan actually led 7-0 early in the game but tries from Vince Carso and Ben Richards put the Buckeyes ahead 14-7. Richards got his second to put Ohio State ahead 21-7 just before halftime, and Carso burned the Wolverines around the outside to get his second to make it, Conor Forrestal's fourth conversion, a 28-7 scoreline after 40 minutes.
Richards set up Luke Downs and then Noland Skelley broke through to open the second half. No. 8 Nate Heister capped off an attacking scrum and then Skelley set up Gavin Gill.
Suddenly it was 52-7. Ryan Bradfield got the final OSU try, just reward for a solid effort, before Michigan finished off the game with a try.
That result put Ohio State in a strong position to challenge for one of the top two spots in the Big 10. The Buckeyes' only loss was 27-20 to Indiana (currently 2-0). OSU still has Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan State on the schedule.
