LONDON - South Africa coach Heyneke Meyer has named his lineup for the Pool B match against USA at the Olympic stadium at noon ET on Wednesday.

The Springboks have made two changes to the starting lineup that defeated Scotland on 3 October. Frans Malherbe will start at tight-head prop in place of Jannie Du Plessis and Lwazi Mvovo comes in at 11. Bryan Habana shifts to right wing and JP Pietersen is not in the matchday 23.

Two is the fewest changes the Springboks have made between successive World Cup matches since making no changes at all between their 2007 semi-final and final. That side went on to win the Webb Ellis Cup.

Schalk Burger will make his 17th appearance in a World Cup match, equalling the team record of 17 by John Smit. Current teammate Victor Matfield is also on 16, but he is not in the matchday 23.

Fourie du Preez will captain the Springboks for the second time in his test career, the first time being against Scotland last Saturday. The scrum-half will appear in his 74th test.

Morné Steyn is in the matchday 23 for the first time at RWC 2015. Four years ago, he was the tournament top scorer with 62 points.

Rudy Paige can make both his test debut and RWC debut if he comes on as a replacement. Paige can become the first player to make his Springboks test debut in a World Cup match since Schalk Burger on 24 October 2003.​
