There’s a bit of a shakeup in the NECRC as the University of Vermont has beaten Rhode Island 32-5.
UVM, which opened it’s season with a loss to Coast Guard Academy. But that 17-8 defeat turned out to be a reflection of how good UVM was, not how bad. Coast Guard has continued to win, downing Norwich 27-15 Saturday with five tries to go to 4-0. Vermont, however, was facing the 3-0 URI squad and won big, 32-5, to move to 3-1 and in a tie for 2nd place in the NECRC with Rhode Island.
And then there’s the best winless team in men’s DII college rugby. New Hampshire, which had lost all three games by a total of nine points, faced Boston University and … tied, 13-13 on Friday night. So still no wins for the Wildcats.
