NCRC Latest - WWU Wins, Semi Matchups Set
Western Washington clinched 1st place in the NCRC, and Boise State did just enough to secure a playoff spot, as WWU defeated BSU 56-24 Saturday in Bellingham, Wash.
Boise State entered the game five points ahead of Oregon in the standings, and so a loss with no bonus points would have left the door open for the Ducks to catch up. But the Broncos scored four tries, and that was enough to earn a bonus point and make the semis. The bad news? They get to play at Western Washington for a second time.

Western, meanwhile, moved to 6-1 and by virtue of having the head-to-head tiebreaker over the University of Washington, cannot be caught for 1st. UW plays Washington State next week for 2nd place, but those two will play again in the semis.
"We played well," said WWU Head Coach Paul Horne, whose team showed some offensive flair Saturday. "We stuck to our patter for a good 60 minutes. We took out foot off the pedal a big after halftime, but finished strong."
Oliver Daugherty and Noah Hanks both scored two tries for Western.
So the semifinal matchups are confirmed, with Western hosting Boise State Oregon and Washington playing WSU. Whether UW or WSU hosts depends on next week's game.
