National Youth Sevens Confirms 2024 Venue
The National Sevens Youth Rugby Championships is back for another year with a new venue.
With the traditional venue in Cleveland, Ohio being partially under reconstruction, the tournament is moving to Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio.
Readers of GRR may remember that Walsh University just recently announced that it will be adding rugby as a school-supported sport, taking many of the players from the Notre Dame College program since NDC is closing its doors.
Walsh University to Adopt Notre Dame College Rugby Programs
The tournament returns with brackets for Boys and Girls in U16 and U14.
There are still places for girls teams in both brackets, and while there are a few places for boys teams, there isn't as much room.
In 2023 the National Youth 7s held championships in three brackets: U16 Boys, U16 Girls, and U14 Boys. The winners were: Panther Rugby Academy (Boys U16s), Eagle Impact Rugby Academy (Girls U16s), and Tribe Rugby (Boys U14s).
So this year there is the extra bracket with the Girls U14s.
