More Standings Bunching in Rugby East

The Rugby East is once again in standings turmoil.

After beating Navy by three Life University found themselves ojn the wrong end of  a three-point result, losing to Queens 29-26.

Queens had rebounded nicely from a loss to Penn State, and

Walsh finally found their finishing ability. Being unable to convert pressure into points was a big problem for the Cavaliers, but they managed this time, beating Penn State 41-19.

Mary Washington had to battle with Belmont Abbey (which is the story of just about every Belmont Abbey game) but managed to hold off the Crusaders 38-27. Mount St. Mary's defended their line well at crucial moments and were able to find tries instead of penalty goals more often, too, seeing Mount past St. Bonaventure 36-28.

Navy won well over Kutztown 60-17, which was really the only game that wasn't close.

The upshot of all of this is that Navy, Army, Life, and Queens are all now at 5-1. Navy leads among those due to bonus points but it's very much a banana conference—all in a bunch.

Mount St. Mary's is right behind those four at 4-2.

For Walsh, the win over Penn State did wonders for ensuring they will be in the NCR D1 playoffs. It looks now as though the seedings for that playoff will be #1 Queens, #2 St. Bonaventure, #3 Kutztown, and #4 Walsh. This is partly due to the fact that, in very close games, Bonnies beat both Kutztown and Walsh.
