Well over 80 teams are in action in D1A, D1AA, and NCR D1 games this weekend.
Some of the bigger games we're looking at:
Indiana at Ohio State. This is not an intra-division game but still a Big 10 team, and one that is between Goff Rugby Report's #11 and #10 in our Fall All-D1 rankings. Indiana is still a little in flux with a new coach and a new system. Ohio State has been dealing with some injuries and is a little in flux because of that. But it's an excellent rivalry and should be a tense, and close, match.
D1 Men's College Rankings Week 6
Penn State at Navy. Penn State might be 1-2 but they have been competitive in their conference losses and could easily cause problems for Navy. The Midshipmen, for their part, have their eye on a Rugby East Conference title
“We have reached the halfway point of our fall season and we’re very excited to welcome our alumni into town this weekend for our annual with you dinner,” said director of rugby Gavin Hickie. “In terms of our performances, we have areas to be satisfied with to date, including our results, but we’re well aware we have some very tough tests coming up. We expect a ferocious battle against Penn State on Saturday but are looking forward to our alums cheering us on at the Prusmack Rugby Center.”
Louisville at Western Michigan. The Mid American Conference usually comes down to Bowling Green and Western Michigan. The other teams have been working hard to break through to sit at the cool kids' lunch table. They get there once in a while, but it's tough to stay there. Louisville has been really good this year, but their 3-0 record is not against the conference leaders. WMU's schedule has been a bit tougher. However, if you compare a common opponent (Pitt), Louisville looks a little strong. We'll see.
Brown vs Fairfield. Both are undefeated in the Liberty D1 West so this is the game that likely decides who is on top. Also in the Liberty, but in the D1AA level, BC and UMass are unbeaten in conference play and this could well decide who ends up atop the Liberty D1AA East.
Life University at Queens. Finally Life's 1st side gets on the field and takes on Queens in a clash of #4 vs #7. Life has held onto the #4 ranking despite not really playing, and that's on us at GRR World Headquarters. We have given Life the benefit of the doubt. This is the first big test.
