We broke up one of the tied pairs, after St. Bonaventure doubled-up on Wheeling and Walsh lost the same weekend.
We are a bit muted in our response to those results; Belmont Abbey moves up but not past Walsh, because overall Walsh still has more wins against tough teams.
So we'll wait a bit. Can Belmont Abbey back that win up?
And Walsh drops down a little bit, but they play Queens this coming weekend and that could affect it all.
Rio Grande lost to Marian, but it was a close game, and we put them into the Top 20, while Syracuse and Iona, who did not really back up recent good showings, drift out. Siena's results are just a bit stronger overall.
We also are a bit muted on Wheeling. Even though St. Bonaventure moves up to #2 based on that game, we don't move Wheeling down. Why? Partly it's because Wheeling were leading 25-14 at halftime against Bonnies, so we know they can play well. Yes St. Bonaventure scored 36 unanswered points after that, but you know we like to wait a week to see if a result means something long-term.
With the Big Rivers and the Big 10 going into their playoffs this weekend, and the final ARC conference games (Walsh vs Queens and Wheeling vs Belmont Abbey), we get to answer some questions.
