Scores are coming in from around the Men's DII college landscape.
The first game of the Rugby Northeast was Fairfield (back in DII after a season in DI) and Providence. And it was Providence that emerged victorious, beating Fairfield 40-31 behind a player-of-the-game performance from senior Dan Tracy.
Norwich went up to Canada and came away with three losses, but three good, competitive losses. All three games were within three points as the Cadets lost to Penn, Sherbrooke, and Bishop's.
In the South, Hurricane (nor Tropical Storm) Hermine has thrown a wrench into plans, and Coastal Carolina at UNC Wilmington was postponed. But UNC-Charlotte and Elon got their game off and Charlotte dominated, leading 64-0 at halftime and cruising 81-12.
In another game involved a former DI team now in DII, once again it was the longtime DII team that won. Appalachian State handed Wake Forest a 30-11 deeat.
In the opening weekend of the expanded Rocky Mountain Conference, Western State defeated Montana State. The Colorado School of Mines started off brilliantly, beating Air Force B 41-17..
