Well with D1A teams getting a few more games done this week, we have a little more to do when it comes to the rankings.

The big news for us is how strong Arizona and UCLA are looking. As we've said before, idle teams might slide down in the rankings in the fall, but those rankings can change quickly once a few games are played. UCLA has done quite a bit here in terms of changing their rankings. They pushed Cal in the Storer Classic final, and then this week won convincingly over Cal Poly.

Now Cal Poly had done pretty well the week before, losing a close one to Grand Canyon. So we're bumping up UCLA based on a close loss, and then a big win over a team that had already done relatively well.

Arizona moves up, and stays ahead of UCLA for now, but the Wildcats move up only four as opposed to six places for UCLA. This is not based on anything Arizona did wrong—they looked really strong against SD State—but because it's just one game against a team that hasn't played much yet. So, less evidence.

BYU gets a bump after a good trip to Texas. Oklahoma's big win over Baylor moves to Sooners up four spots.
