Chicago vs Loyola in 2026.
Chicago didn't make the biggest move, but it might be the most significant.
Author: Alex Goff

Of the 40 teams in our D2 rankings, 33 changed their ranking.

And of the seven that didn't move, every single one is in the top seven. Those guys don't move. None did anything that prompted us to move those teams.

But ... others are moving. First off, the elephant in the room ... Cornell. They're in the news, and we've not spoken about it because we try very hard not to comment about non-rugby things we don't know enough about. But ... Cornell didn't play their game last week and we might see more games not played as everything shakes out.

That's enough about that.

The biggest mover upward is Widener, which lost their game, but only by a single point to a very good Salisbury team. IUP, after a couple of shakey games, cames back to beat Dayton and moves up six spots. As we have said before, sometimes you throw out results because it's clear a team was injured, or testing combinations, or some other reason.

That's what we will likely do with IUP's loss to Slippery Rock, and the Crimson Hawks might well be back in the top 10.

Are We Seeing Contenders in D2 Already?

Chicago, UW-Milwaukee, Boston University, and SUNY Oswego all move up after wins against ranked teams.

Coming up this week, Milwaukee vs Marquette is probably one of the biggest games. Nazareth vs RIT and Benedictine vs Chicago are also going to be influential.
