We didn't see too many of the Top 10 in action this week but about 14 ranked #10 to #35 did play.
As we have always said, the playoffs always shake up the rankings. When so few D2 teams play outside their conference it remains difficult to judge the level of play.
We have bumped many of the Gateway Conference down a bit after Loyola, the #3 team in the Great Midwest, won big over Washington U. Obviously Virginia has to move up after a close win over Villanova, and the complete unknown, Mira Costa, finally gets a look.
Mira Costa had victories over sides from D1 schools on the West Coast, but nothing that really spelled out where they were as a team. Beating Montana State helps with that. Now we see how they do in the full Round of 16 this week.
