We have three teams coming into the rankings.
Citadel lost their game, but lost by only three points against North Carolina, and that's good enough to get Citadel in there. Providence beat Coast Guard 12-6. This is a really interesting result because Providence hadn't looked like they were poised for such a result. We're going to wait on this, meaning that we aren't automatically dropping Providence College over Coast Guard just yet. Providence does move into the rankings but will need to consolidate to move up.
And Principia beat St. Louis University in a fairly convincing manner and comes into the top 40.
Some other notes: #4 Norwich beat #5 Vermont 42-6; #5 Marquette beat #11 UW-Platteville 52-5. So we drop UVM and UWP and look to move up those other two. That's kind of difficult because we also would like to see something from the teams above them that show they're vulnerable. Right now we're not seeing it, but we could. So Norwich stays at #4, while Marquette moves up to #5. Wisconsin-Whitewater, which lost by a small margin to Marquette, follows Marquette up a spot.
Not too many head-turning results in the middle of the rankings. Marist won but it was basically as expected. We are looking forward to some rankings-on-rankings games coming up.
