Just a few play-in games, as well as the SCRC final, give us data for this week's rankings.
As often happens in the D2 rankings, the playoffs certainly could make things change drastically.
However, for the most part our inkling that teams near the top (bot not AT the top) of strong conferences are in a better position than teams AT the top of not-as-strong conferences. We have discussed our issues with Virginia earlier this season and we suspected we had them too high. We did, but not so high that we felt any shame about it.
Scranton has been up-and-down all season and that can be chalked up to an issue D2 and small-college teams deal with all the time—injuries and depth. Mankato slides down, but we are a little worried about Grand Valley State at #9. That might be a shade high, although they haven't really put much of a foot wrong. How they deal with Georgetown will be interesting.
